Hicks Rhododendron & Azalea Garden

In September of 2023, Bill Hicks celebrated his 90th birthday in the garden with friends and family. Over 70 people came to witness Bill reach an incredible milestone while breaking the ground for his collection on his special day. He wanted to find a final home for his beloved collection and he knew the Highline Seatac Botanical Garden was perfect.

Our Collection

An ideal space was available adjoining the Seike Garden. James Hachiya and Glenn Seike embraced their new neighbor of rare azaelas and rhododendron.

It took three weeks to deconstruct the Hicks’ original garden and move the entire collection to a protected area at the Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden. Visit mid-March through the end of May for peak bloom time.
