CAPTURING MEMORIES IN THE GARDEN

Personal Photography & Hobbiests

Individuals may use the Garden for personal photography as long as the guidelines below are followed. A personal use permit is not required. We provide these guidelines so you have a positive photography session, while ensuring a pleasant experience for our many visitors. We ask for a donation of your choosing.

PATHWAYS

Keep pathways clear at to accommodate other guests. You are allowed to walk on the lawns.

PLANT BEDS

Stay out of all the plant beds and do not disturb or remove any plants, labels, markets, containers, etc

NO CLIMBING

Do not climb on rocks, trees or architectural elements within the garden.

MANNERS

Please be courteous of other visitors and their expectations of a peaceful visit to the garden

Commercial Photography

 

Commercial still & filming permits are issued on a limited basis. Most permits can be issued with a minimum of five days’ notice. However amount of time needed depends on the extent of use. Pre-scheduling is essential and a permit is required. Permit approval is assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Commercial photography includes, but is not limited to, photography within the Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden to promote or sell a product or service, photos or films for sale, and photography used for business purposes. 

Insurance Requirements 

Requestor must provide a certificate of insurance that meets the City of SeaTac requirements. Minimum amount of General Liability is $1,000,000 per occurrence, $2,000,000 aggregate.  

No vehicles allowed in the garden.

Damage Deposit – May be collected depending upon scope of use.

Park Availability – Parks are generally available to schedule from 7am to dusk. Scheduled time must include arrival time of equipment, set-up, actual film/photo shoot time, break-down, and departure.

Fees and Charges – All fees and charges are due in advance of issuing a permit for park use.

A. Permit Fee – $50 per day
B. Commercial Use Fees – Fees are the minimum on a sliding scale based on the type of production:

  • Still Photography/Training films/Industrial films, etc. – $105 per day per site/$53 per half day per site
  • Broadcast, Film, TV, Commercial, etc. – $310 per day per site/$155 per half day per site

Permit(s) will be issued following receipt of payment and will specify day, time, and location for use of the scheduled park facility. The remainder of the park will remain open for use by the public.

Refunds – Fees charged are refundable (minus permit fee) if the usage is cancelled after the permit is issued and written notice is received two business days in advance of the usage.

ADMISSION/VISITING

FREE for all visitors.

HOURS: Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden is open from dawn to dusk everyday, excluding Federal Holidays.

PETS: Dogs on a leash are permitted in the garden. Please refrain dogs from playing in the ponds, streams and fountains. Clean up after pets.
